I'm back home again.. FINALLY!! 2 weeks has past since the new year.. learned quite a number of values and military stuff in OCS during this period as well..

To be a commander or to be in a leardership position is not as easy as going there, say some words and expect things to be done of a certain standard.. or.. encountering a situation unprepared and overcoming it without a plan in mind..

The image you portray to your subordinates is also very important.. as the saying goes: "first impression always counts".. for example, you are a manager of a MNC and you turn up for work in singlet with discoloured pants and dirty shoes.. how would you expect the people who is working under you to give you that respect for you and the standard which is required of them?

even the choice of words and the manner in which you speak tells alot.. you don't expect your manager to be swearing at you even when things aren't done properly and the mood is all stressed up.. same goes as being officers in the army..

i put the above in cvilian context so that you guys and girls out there can relate better..

there are also tons of stuff to learn.. everyday is busy and rushing for everything.. planning is important.. without a plan and priortization of tasks.. your timing would be all screwed up and you wont get much time of rest..

but overall.. i would say my wing is going for the logical approach.. convincing us with the purpose of the task/actions to let us know why and what are we actually doing.. that in a way we will be thinking smartly when we are carrying out the assignment..

alright.. enough of army..

i got back home today and as i went through the papers on my table.. i realised that i actually have not paid my january handphone bill.. haha.. how crappy.. i would be "crying" and cursing myself if one day my line got cut off while im in camp.. haha..

anyway.. during the first weekend of the new year.. it was the OCS family visiting day.. great to see our parents.. the girlfriends/sisters of the fellow platoon mates.. haha.. so my parents went and my cousin and her mum went too! which was kinda a shocker as i totally didnt expect them to turn up..

that made my day infact.. so i brought them around the SAFTI compound.. when up to the SAFTI Tower.. and bascially.. just let them know about my living and training conditions.. they talked to my instructors and hopefully they will understand what im going through..

because in OCS.. for the next 8 months at least.. i would be only home for less than 32 hours every week or even a fortnight.. other times.. there will be extra duties to do.. thus.. weekends are literally gone..
